ABOUT US

Kingdom Living

It all started in 1997 when I, Craig Godby, was pastoring at Hill Top Baptist Church near Speegleville, Texas. I had been there for about eight years, of which five years were at their new property. It was there during prayer time that I felt the Lord say, “Look to north.” Within a week my brother called and said he had a dream of us in the field looking to the north of the property of Hilltop Baptist Church.

It was some time later that I felt released to go into homes and preach, which is were Hope Ministries began. We met on Saturday nights for three years. After pastoring for years, I had come to have a lot of questions from others. We went into the homes, at one point gathered around the table and swept the table clean. We went through the book of Acts, studying New Testament church. From that, we made some changes. One of those changes was the communion table for us was to be a big part of our service each week.

We met in homes for over 10 years. It was in 2007 that I felt change was coming. One Monday morning on the way to San Angelo, I felt the Lord say is time to come home. Not knowing what that meant. I had been working for L E Fence for nine years, traveling on the road a lot, being away from home.  Not long after we came to know and fellowship with Rock Springs Church. During this time we leased the building that we are now in. The building was built in 1929 and I was told that my mother and father before married both worked there when it was a movie theater. Prior to us making the building our church, it was a Pizza For You building.

The Lord has blessed us in that we believe we were called to this city and county to colabor with the body of Christ. We believe that there is one church in this city even though we meet at various places, we are all of the body of Christ. We probably do things different, as you may do things that we don't. Another change for us was to move away from what I preached for most of the Ministry. Tribulation gospel was the focus, not that we don't believe in the tribulation and end times we do. We come to understand that God wants to manifest his kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven. Matt 6:9-10

We at Hope Ministries in the past 2 1/2 years have seen and experienced more of the movement and the power of God than all the previous years put together. We believe that we are to minister to the body of Christ. The word Salvation has a threefold meaning: saved, healed, and delivered! For most of us the being saved was the easy part, but healed and delivered was something that we came later and I speak for me. It is all a process that is ongoing! We come to experience the presence of God in various ways, seeing people healed and delivered. We have a team from the age of 12 to seniors that prayer over the sick. We feel that God has called to a ministry of praying for the sick and hurting. This is a place where people can come to be prayed over. No one has to come to our services, but we have people to pray over you. There are people here on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday nights. We have a healing service once a month, but we pray over the sick every service.

The gospel is a gospel of power!
1 Corinthians 4:20 Paul warned them that the Kingdom of God is not in words but in power!

Rom.14:17 For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and, joy in the Holy Spirit.

I believe we are at a point that we experience what we know the word says. I know what religion is, form without power! We at a time that God is pouring out revelation on the body of Christ. Revelation of who God is!

Eph.1:17-20 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. Which He worked in Christ raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places.

2 Pet. 1:2-3 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue.

The spirit of revelation opens up our knowledge of who God is and from that comes the release of power from heaven. That power gives access to all pertaining to life and godliness. That encounter with God will not only shape the world around you, it will shape the world through you!

We don’t have faith because we understand, but we understand because we have faith. Revelation takes us only halfway there, experience leads us all the way. Hearing without doing has locked you into a form without power!
